Popup Art Gallery Media Design

The project was from the course Content Design for New Media (Teacher: Stina Freijd / Location: Jönköping University)

Brief: This project involves creating a comprehensive graphical profile and a digital-focused brand guide for a modern company. The components include a static and animated logo, a color scheme, and typography guidelines presented in a brand guide. Additionally, the project requires the development of a strong digital presence for the client through social media. This includes creating templates and graphical components for social channels based on the established concept. The presentation should showcase the entire social media strategy and toolbox, ensuring the core concept is felt throughout the work. Open-source imagery and videos can be used if needed, but the overall aesthetic should align with the client's needs and the established foundational idea.

Working Process

In crafting "Deep in Blue," a popup art gallery, the journey commenced with a thorough pre-study, featuring insightful interviews with real-life artist friend. This informed a nuanced understanding of expectations and distinctions between individual and group exhibitions. Visualization played a pivotal role as MidJourney generated two personas and artworks, establishing a foundation for the concept. "Deep in Blue" emerged as an immersive gallery experience, symbolizing an emotional journey through shades of blue and a beacon of hope amid frustration. The target audience, aged 30-45, was carefully chosen for their purchasing power and nuanced appreciation of art. Planning extended to Instagram as the primary platform, aligning with its popularity among the target demographic. A strategic approach to video content creation focused on storytelling, artist highlights, and exhibition glimpses. The iterative refinement process ensured cohesion across visual elements, delivering a compelling narrative in line with the foundational idea of "Deep in Blue." The outcome is a meticulously planned and visually captivating art gallery experience.

Skill learned

This project enriched my skill set across various domains, from conducting effective pre-studies and extracting insights through interviews to visualizing concepts and personas using tools like MidJourney. The strategic selection of a target audience and crafting a cohesive narrative for social media platforms demonstrated my proficiency in audience analysis and content planning. The use of Instagram for tailored video content creation underscored my adaptability to diverse digital mediums. Overall, the project honed my abilities in conceptualization, audience targeting, and effective visual communication, providing a holistic understanding of developing and executing a digital art gallery concept.
