* Impossible: A Lyric Motion Graphics Video

The project was from the course Motion Graphics (Teacher: Markus Hahne & Vilhelm Sundin/ Location: Jönköping University)

Brief: This project is a lyric video for the song Impossible by Teezo Touchdown, created as part of the Motion Graphics course. The video visually interprets themes of perseverance, overcoming rejection, and achieving dreams. Using a clean, minimalistic design with black-and-white visuals and pops of color, the animation emphasizes key lyrics and emotional transitions. The pacing, animations, and effects were carefully designed to match the rhythm and uplifting tone of the song, inspiring viewers to pursue their goals despite challenges.

Working Process

The project began with a mood board and storyboard to establish the visual tone and pacing. We aimed for a clean, minimalistic style that aligned with the emotional message of the song. After Effects was used to create animations such as typewriter effects, noise textures, and glitches, which enhanced the storytelling. Adjustments were made throughout the process to ensure the pacing and visuals synchronized seamlessly with the song's rhythm, creating a dynamic yet balanced experience.

Skill learned

This project deepened personal understanding of motion design principles, including visual hierarchy, rhythm, and balance. I improved my After Effects skills, particularly in animating typography, transitions, and using effects to convey emotion. Additionally, I gained experience in visual storytelling, learning how to use simple design elements effectively to evoke emotion and keep the audience engaged.
