Brief: Design the cover for the upcoming JTH (Jönköping University - Tekniska Högskolan) catalogue, targeting 18–19-year-old high school students in Sweden interested in technology or natural sciences programs. Your creative design should adhere to the JU graphic manual, incorporating the JU logo, "Tekniska Högskolan," and "Utbildningar 2024/2025" text.
Working Process
To commence the design process for the JTH catalogue cover, I conducted a thorough pre-study of past catalog covers, carefully analyzed the brief, and familiarized myself with the JU graphic manual. Considering the target audience's age group (18–19 years old), I aimed to infuse the design with a youthful and energetic vibe. Leveraging the creative potential of MidJourney, I utilized ideal prompts to generate images that resonated with the desired atmosphere. This approach ensured that the visual elements align with the intended young and dynamic aesthetic, contributing to an engaging and appealing cover design for the JTH catalogue.
I reached the top 6 in the competition with my design.
Skill learned
The JTH catalogue cover design project significantly enhanced my research and analytical skills as I studied previous catalog covers, the brief, and the JU graphic manual. Crafting a youthful and energetic vibe for the target audience sharpened my ability to translate conceptual ideas into visually compelling designs. Additionally, utilizing MidJourney showcased my adaptability in incorporating AI tools to achieve the desired aesthetic. Overall, this project fostered skills in research, guideline adherence, creative thinking, and AI integration.
