Movie Poster Design
The project was from the course Content Design for New Media (Teacher: Stina Freijd / Location: Jönköping University)
Brief: Create a poster for an event, product, or service of your chooses and showcase it in a mockup. Be creative with typography and experiment with the visuals and do lots of research for inspirations.
Working Process
In the creative process of designing a poster for the fictional movie "Echo of Yellow," I drew inspiration from Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" to infuse a distinct style into the visual narrative. Utilizing Midjourney, I generated an image dominated by vibrant yellow blocks, interspersed with black building shapes and the silhouette of a human figure with their back turned. The bold use of pure yellow and black created a striking contrast, amplifying the visual impact and mirroring the bold aesthetics of the inspiration.
For the title layout, I opted for a strong and bold font to ensure a commanding presence on the poster with Adobe Illustration. The playful and meaningful aspect of the movie was reflected in the manipulation of text, where I experimented with different styles to infuse both fun and depth into the overall design. The final result aimed to capture the essence of the movie, drawing viewers in with its dynamic visual elements and hinting at the intriguing narrative within.
Skill learned
I acquired the skill of incorporating a unique visual style into my work, crafting designs that captivate attention through deliberate choices in color and shape. By playfully manipulating text to convey both fun and meaning, I learned to seamlessly blend compelling content with the intended message for my audience, gaining valuable insights into effective communication and design cohesion. This learning experience has been immensely enriching.
