Self-branding Logo Design

The project was from the course Content Design for New Media (Teacher: Stina Freijd / Location: Jönköping University)

Brief: Create a logotype/symbol for yourself. It can, but doesn't have to, be based on your name—a monogram, a signature, or something completely different. If you aim for higher grades, think about including movement/animation as well. Making the finished version as a GIF is probably a good choice.

Working Process

In crafting this logo, I used Adobe Illustrator and after effect to bring my creative vision to life. The journey began with a thorough exploration of my personality traits, identifying myself as motivated, sharp, efficient, and energetic. This introspective process served as the cornerstone for translating these qualities into visual elements for my personal logo.

The sketching phase played a crucial role, enabling me to delve into various design possibilities that could encapsulate these defining attributes. From a pool of options, I meticulously chose a design that not only harmonized with my characteristics but also exuded a sense of vibrancy and motivation. This iterative exploration ensured that the final logo authentically captures the essence of who I am.

Skill learned

Throughout this project, I refined my skills in both static logo design and motion graphics. Creating the static logo involved illustrating my personality traits visually, focusing on design principles like composition and balance to effectively convey my energetic and sharp nature. On the other hand, working with After Effects for the motion logo added a dynamic dimension to my skill set. I gained understanding in animating logos, exploring movement, timing, and transitions to bring an extra layer of engagement and expressiveness to my personal brand.
