UX/UI Design Of Second Hand Shop

The project was from the course User Experience Design (Teacher: Carolin Wollny & Eveline Ingesson / Location: Jönköping University)

Brief: This group project centers around creating a digital product, emphasizing user experience through the development of a Proof of Concept (POC) or Minimal Viable Product (MVP). The project involves comprehensive steps, including research, usability tests, data analysis, and prototyping, aligning with theoretical concepts learned during the course. Participants can choose predefined cases, like a website/application for buying and selling second-hand clothes, food delivery, booking bus/train tickets, managing tasks and projects, or monitoring health-related topics.

Working Process

In our collaborative digital product development project, we kicked off with a thorough competitor analysis, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, meticulously documented for reference. Our user-centric approach involved in-depth research, yielding insights that shaped a detailed persona and user journey. Through careful analysis, we organized the product structure via a sitemap, transitioned to low-fidelity wireframes, and iteratively tested our interactive prototype, meticulously documenting the process, results, and design iterations. Our final documentation, adhering to APA referencing, encapsulates the collaborative journey, culminating in a concise yet comprehensive presentation of our efforts.

Our user-focused design choices were informed by competitor analysis, user research, and usability testing, ensuring a robust and intuitive digital product. In presenting our work, we showcased the interactive prototype and testing outcomes, offering a holistic view of our collaborative effort.

Skill learned

This digital product development project has been instrumental in cultivating a user-centric design approach. Through competitor analysis and user research, we gained insights into evaluating existing products and understanding our target audience's preferences. The iterative process of creating wireframes and an interactive prototype improved our prototyping and design skills. Usability testing provided practical experience in evaluating user interactions, emphasizing a data-driven approach to design decisions. The project also enhanced our documentation and presentation skills, emphasizing the importance of clear communication and collaboration. Overall, it significantly advanced our capabilities in user experience design, research, prototyping, testing, and effective team collaboration.
